Wow, it's been WAAAAAY too long since I've done a site update.
Lessee, what have I been up to?
Well, I have been helping run a local Utah rock website:
UtahMetal.com.
I'm also involved in a Prog Metal project.
We have 5 of our 7(!) members onboard, and will
be holding auditions for the last two positions in
the next several weeks. Our male vocalist sounds
a lot like Rob Halford of Judas Priest fame,
and our female vocalist/keyboardist has strong
vocal similarities to Stevie Nicks.
Also currently onboard are a guitarist and bassist,
both of which are extremely talented.
I, of course, am a 'lead keyboardist',
as my style has a lot of 'attacks' in it, and
tends to drive a good portion of the songs we have so far.
Oh, and although I've been quite busy, I have managed to work on a piece or two of artwork also. Here are a couple of them:

This was an album cover idea I was working on for a local
Utah band, Davidian. They ultimately went with another
album cover, but I'm quite proud of the level of detail
that I managed on this one.
I still want to finish it at some point (some of the
circuitry is not done yet), but who knows when I will
be able to get back to it.

This piece is in the very early stages of development, but figured I'd show it off anyways. I have a LOT of work to do on the armor and such...
If I had to pick my other favorite pieces so far (the ones I think I did good on), it would be these:
Linda Portrait.
Mel Portrait.
Jenny & Eddie.
Colleen Gray.

I just finished my last day of work here at the paper. Judging by people's reactions, I will be sorely missed...
Oh, and I felt the need to do some artwork again!

Off to ProgPower IV!!!
2 August 2003
My vacation was a mixed bag. The high points were seeing Fates Warning TWICE, as well as Dream Theater and Queensryche at one of the Fates gigs. I even had a chance to chat with Ray, Joey, Mark, and Frank at the Friday gig!!!
I also had the pleasure of meeting a rather talented singer/songwriter, Colleen Gray. If you like contemporary music, definitely check out her site!

Oh, and for the person who asked about my bio, it will go up eventually. Apologies in the meantime!!!
Yes, the rumors are true! I am moving back to Utah in about a month... and I am not particularly happy about it. It is for a noble effort, though so my personal feelings are irrelevant at this point. Family is forever, as they say, and I am fortunate to have a very loving family (if very hardheaded at times)! I really love Tennessee (even with the lack of a decent metal scene), and will be back here someday...
Is it just a high expectation on my part, or is it common courtesy to at least acknowledge that a message from someone you know was received? I guess manners were tossed out the window when the net was invented...
It is time to start holding more people to my apparently unreasonably high expectations, as whenever I let people slide and give them another chance they just end up disappointing me even more. For those who have chosen to blow me off recently - in the words of Darth:
"You have failed me for the last time!"

Well, I have some changes coming up in my life. More on these in the coming weeks...
My musical recording project is moving along nicely. I'm not sure when I will be done, but by the end of the year is a strong possibility. As soon as I finish some new mixing I will post a sound clip here.
I'm on vacation at the moment, and will be seeing Fates Warning twice this weekend!!! Oh, and that all female tribute to Iron Maiden too. I had a chance to hang with Dustin of Katagory5 earlier this week, which was a lot of fun!

I seem to remember promising myself I would work on updating this site more... apologies to those that actually drop in from time to time!
My artwork endeavors have ground to a standstill for the time being. I have a number of other projects on my plate at the moment, so the art thing gets a rest. Might as well show off two unfinished pieces in the meantime (click for larger version)...

Well, I finally am taking a real vacation! You know, one where you actually relax and doesn't involve a lot of work or just flying out for a show for a day and then flying back home so I can work the next day...
I'm working on several pieces of artwork at the moment. Here is one of them...

6 March 2003
A lot of changes have taken place in the last month, but at least now www.mrtoast.com is a reality!!!
I'm still furiously working on even more artwork (which is why I am not getting much done on this website). Here's my latest work in progress...

I am furiously at work on a number of projects at the moment, most of which are not far enough along to share. My photoshop art skills are improving very nicely, however. Here is my latest work in progress:

This is my latest attempt to paint Linda McDonald of The Iron Maidens.
